Who is a good candidate for hand filler

Hand filler treatment is suitable for both women and men who would like to correct and improve the look of aging hands.

There is no specific age recommendation. If your hands are dry and skin is showing signs of aging but you are only 30 or 35, you can effectively treat your hands with this treatment.

What can I expect during the treatment?

• We will ask you to fill out the medical forms to exclude any contraindications to the treatment.
• We disinfect your hands and make a small injection with a needle. Through that injection we insert a cannula, a blunt needle. The cannula has a blunt end, which makes it more comfortable and less likely to cause pain or tissue damage.
• This allows us to distribute the filler in areas with visible tendons and veins, thinner skin, plumping up the skin and making it smoother. Only one injection is required.
• The filler contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic, which minimises any discomfort during the procedure.
• The entire procedure takes between 15 to 30 minutes.
• Bruising is rare after hand filler, but may happen. You can use arnica gel or cream, to reduce bruising and swelling.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, and tanning immediately after the treatment

 

How to prepare for your appointment?

• For 2-3 days before your appointment avoid blood thinners, such as aspirin, and anti inflammatory drugs.
• Don’t drink alcohol for at least three days before your appointment.

Hand filler contraindications

• Pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Known allergies to any ingredients in dermal fillers eg. lidocaine allergy
• Serious underlying health conditions, such as uncontrolled diabetes, autoimmune diseases, cancer, or chronic infections
• Active fungal or bacterial infections in the treatment area
• Psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, or open wounds in the treatment area
• Autoimmune conditions, such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, may have an increased risk of adverse reactions or complications
• We do NOT treat anyone under the age of 18. With or without parental consent

 

Hand filler aftercare

• Avoid direct sun, especially in the first few days after your filler treatment
• Keep your hands moisturised
• Avoid excessive heat or cold
• Avoid rubbing, scrubbing, or harsh chemicals that may irritate the skin
