How to prepare for hair stroke eyebrows?

• For 2-3 days before your appointment avoid alcohol and blood thinners, and don’t drink coffee on the day.
• Don’t tan, your skin shouldn’t be tanned.
• Do not wax your face or have any facial treatments for a week prior.

 

What to expect during your treatment?

• The treatment takes around 2.5 hours.
• First we draw and map your brows with a pencil.
• We apply a topical anesthetic to minimise discomfort.
• Using a permanent makeup machine we draw hair like strokes with tattoo pigment.

 

What to expect after your treatment?

• Eyebrows may look darker and more defined for a few days.
• Redness and some welling are common.
• Final result is visible after 4 to 6 weeks.

 

Aftercare

• Keep the area clean and lightly moisturised.
• Avoid touching your brows with unwashed hands.
• Avoid heavy sweating, swimming, and tanning for at least 2 weeks.
• Wash your brows around 3 times a day and apply recommended cream as advised.

 

How long they last and is there any maintenance?

• After the initial appointment a follow up (top up) session is scheduled for 4 to 6 weeks later to perfect the brows.
• After that appointments to refresh the colour can be scheduled once a year or every 2 years.
• Results usually last from 2-5 years, and this is based on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.

 

How long does the procedure take?

We schedule 2.5 hours for the initial appointment, and 1.5 hours for the 4-6 weeks top up.

 

Is the procedure painful?

Discomfort is very minimal, our clients say that they often just feel the vibration of the machine touching their skin, or feel like sneezing. We additionally apply a numbing cream to make the treatment more comfortable.

 

Can I wear makeup after the procedure?

We recommend to avoid makeup on the treated area for at least 5-7 days to prevent infection and to make sure your brows are healing properly. After that time you can wear your normal makeup, foundation, powder and any pencils over it.

 

What if I have an existing eyebrow tattoo?

This is one of the reasons we only do face to face consultations, it is necessary to assess if hairstroke treatment is appropriate technique for you. Sometimes if the previous permanent eyebrow tattoo or microblading doesn’t look nice, the colour is very ashy or bold, the shape of your previous enhancement is not very flattering, we may suggest a complete removal, or fading before going ahead with the new procedure.

 

Are there any risks associated with the procedure?

As with any cosmetic procedures, risks may include infection, allergic reactions, or undesired results. It is very important to disclose all health conditions and medication, and follow the aftercare properly to minimise any risks. We may sometimes refuse treatments but this is only to keep our clients safe and to avoid complications.
