Henna eyebrow treatment in Hertfordshire
Henna eyebrows at Beauty Bar
The main purpose of the powder henna treatment is to rebuild, strengthen, and nourish the eyebrows. Powder brow henna gives an optical thickening effect on the brows as well as tinting effect. Henna penetrates the outer layers of the hair, coating it, which slightly thickens the hair. The group of organic compounds in henna has antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Henna can also dry out the hair, so it is very important to use eyebrow oils after your treatment.

What do you need to know about henna brows Hertfordshire
Can I choose the colour and shape of my henna brows?
When styling and shaping eyebrows, in addition to choosing the right colour, we choose the correct shape for the eyebrows. The right shape and length of eyebrows can enhance natural features, and cover up any imperfections.
Henna conditions your eyebrows. Plants rich in nutrients and moisturisers care for your brows for 6 weeks after the treatment. The high content of iron and keratin also stimulates the hair growth.
Henna brow treatment gives great results for weak, sparse, lacking shine and vitality, grey, overplucked, or slow growing eyebrows. If you’ve been trying without success to grow your brows, this treatment will help. If you’ve ever considered getting your eyebrows done permanently, but you are afraid to have a semi permanent eyebrow tattoo and don’t know how it may turn out, this treatment will give you a less permanent look without having to commit to it permanently.
How to prepare for your henna treatment?
Book a patch test appointment for an allergy at least 48 hours before the procedure. It is really important. We can’t book any appointments until we have the test results (to comply with the insurance regulations).
Can henna help to grow back my eyebrows?
Henna won’t grow the hairs, if the follicles have been damaged. It will nourish and soften the hair that you have, as it’s rich in nutrients. If you like help with growing back your eyebrows, check out our microneedling or semi permanent makeup.
Is patch test mandatory before henna brow treatment?
Yes, there is a mandatory patch test required by the insurance company, it has to be done no later than 48 hours before your appointment date.
What is the difference between eyebrow tint and brow henna?
Eyebrow tint is a synthetic dye that does not condition brow hair. It is mixed with hydrogen peroxide to open up the hair follicles, so the colour can penetrate the hairs. Tint does not stain the skin and only colours the hair. It is not a problem if you have full eyebrows, but if your hair is over plucked or missing, the tint won’t fill in the gaps. Tint may stay on the skin for a couple of days and after that gets washed off.
Henna FAQ
Is henna good for my brows?
Henna contains provitamin B5, vitamin E, and antioxidants. With many natural ingredients this treatment not only enhances the shape and colour but also conditions skin and hair. After this treatment your brows look fuller, soft and shiny.
What ingredients does brow henna contain?
- Lawsonia inermis, also known as hina, the henna tree, the mignonette tree, and the Egyptian privet, is a flowering plant and the sole species of the genus Lawsonia – a natural dye is obtained from thr leaves.
- Indigo powder – is taken from the ripe and dried leaves of the bush called Indigofera Tinctoria, it is a blue dye that enhances the colour of henna.
- Amla extract – taken from the light green and yellow fruits of Emblica Officinalis. It contains fatty acids that strengthen the hair follicles, and make them look shiny and healthy.
- Shikakai – powder taken from the fruits of the Acacia Concinna tree gives hair shine, thickens and strengthens the hair.
Can henna tint the skin or just the hair?
Yes, colours both hair and skin. Eyebrows will look like they had powder, or soft pencil applied to them.
How often can you tint your brows with henna?
This treatment can be repeated every 5-6 weeks. We don’t recommend having it more often, as henna “wraps around” the hairs, it doesn’t penetrate the hair like the tint does.
How long does henna lasts on eyebrows?
Henna not only tints the hairs, but it also stains the skin. This stays on the skin for up to 1-2 weeks and 6 weeks on the hair. It gradually fades and gets lighter as it washes off the skin. People who exfoliate regularly or who have oily skin may see it wear off sooner.
What’s the aftercare for henna eyebrows?
Your new brows should be left alone for a day. You should avoid applying any oils or moisturisers on your eyebrows for 24 hours after your treatment. To get the best results from your henna treatment, day or two before your appointment use a gentle scrub on your brows and the skin around the brow area to exfoliate dead skin cells.
