Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that enhances the natural colour and shape of the lips. Lip blush is long lasting, doesn’t smudge all day long, no matter where you are or what you do.

Will permanent lip blush look natural?

Yes. Lip blush looks like a natural tint. The colour is chosen to suit your skin tone and personal preference.

Does lip blush make lips look bigger?

Lip blush improves the look of lip shape and definition of the lip border, which may make lips look slightly fuller, but it does not add volume like lip fillers. We do not outline the lips outside its contour.

Is the treatment painful?

Most clients find it manageable. We apply a numbing cream to reduce discomfort before and during the treatment.

How long does lip blush last?

Lip blush lasts 2-5 years, depending on lifestyle and aftercare. A top up maintains the colour looking fresh.

What is the healing process like?

Lips may look darker, more red, intense and slightly swollen at first. Colour softens as the lips heal over the following days, settling into a natural shade.

Is there downtime after lip blush?

There is minimal downtime, but you need to follow the aftercare for a few days, and may experience dry, flaking skin.

Can I wear lipstick after lip blush?

You’ll need to avoid wearing makeup for 5-7 days, but after you can wear lipstick if you’d like.

Is lip blush suitable for everyone?

Yes, except for people with contraindications to the treatment.

How to prepare for your appointment?

• Before appointment, we will have a consultation to patch test and check for any contraindications.
• Let us know if you have a history of cold sores.
• Use a gentle scrub and moisturise your lips for a week before your appointment.
• Avoid alcohol and blood thinners for 2 days before.

What to expect during your semi permanent lip appointment?

Before we book your treatment, we will see you for a consultation. We will patch test you, and check for contraindications.

We will apply a numbing cream and draw a template of your lips. When you approve the template, we will start the tattoo process. The appointment takes 2.5 hours. 4-6 weeks later we will see you for a complementary touch up appointment that takes 1-1.5 hours.

Semi permanent lip aftercare

• Leave your lips alone for 24 hours.
• Wash your lips 3 times a day and then moisturise it with a recommended cream.
• Use a new pillowcase and towel.
• Use a straw when drinking, avoid hot and spicy foods and gym for the first 3 days.
• Avoid sauna, swimming pools, and tanning for a couple of weeks.

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Skin infections
• Cancer, radiotherapy and chemotherapy in last year
• Anaemia
• Psoriasis
• Uncontrolled diabetes
• Steroids in the last 6 months
• Blood thinners
• Retinols
• Antibiotics within the last 2 weeks
• Active cold sores
• Lip filler within the last 4 weeks

Can I change the colour of my lip blush at my touch up appointment?

If for any reason you would like to change the colour that you chose originally,  we may need to book a whole new session, as the top up appointment isn’t long enough to start the treatment from the beginning. If it is just a minor change of a tone, please speak with us and we can advise you on it, depending on the circumstances.
