How does anti wrinkle treatment work?

Anti wrinkle injections use botulinum toxin, which temporarily reduces the nerve signals that make the treated muscles contract. When the muscle moves less, the skin above it creases less, helping expression lines look softer.

The effect is temporary and gradually wears off as muscle movement returns.

What type of wrinkles can anti wrinkle treatment help?

Anti wrinkle treatment works best on dynamic wrinkles – lines that appear or become more noticeable when you move your face.

• Common areas include:
• Forehead lines
• Frown lines between the eyebrows
• Crow’s feet around the eyes
• Bunny lines around the nose
• Some lines around the mouth
• Chin dimpling

It is less effective on deeper lines that are still visible when your face is completely relaxed. In those cases, another treatment may be more appropriate.

Will anti wrinkle treatment make me look frozen?

It doesn’t have to.

The amount of movement that remains depends on the treatment plan, dose and how your muscles respond. Some people prefer a very smooth result, while others want their face to continue moving naturally.

I prefer to discuss this beforehand so we can aim for the result that suits you.

How long does anti-wrinkle treatment take to work?

You won’t see the result immediately. The effect starts to become noticeable within around two weeks.

We arrange a review at two weeks to assess if more product is needed.

How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?

For most people, the effect lasts up to 3 months, although this varies depending on the person, treatment area and dosage. Some people find their results last longer, and others may find it wearing off sooner (eg these with higher metabolism).

How many appointments will I need?

The treatment is carried out in one appointment. I offer a review two weeks later to assess the result once the treatment has fully developed.

How long does the treatment take?

The injections themselves are quick. Allow approximately 15–30 minutes.

Is anti-wrinkle treatment painful?

The injections use a very fine needle and are well tolerated.

Is there any downtime?

No, but you shouldn’t lie down for 4 hours after the treatment.

Do I need to prepare for anti-wrinkle treatment?

There isn’t usually any complicated preparation.

What should I avoid after anti-wrinkle treatment?

We’ll give you aftercare instructions following your appointment. Avoid exercise and heat, do not lie down for 4 hours.

Can anti-wrinkle treatment treat forehead lines?

Yes. Forehead lines are caused by repeated movement of the forehead muscle, so reducing that movement can soften the lines.

Can anti-wrinkle treatment treat frown lines?

Yes. Frown lines between the eyebrows are dynamic lines caused by repeated contraction of the muscles in this area.

Can anti-wrinkle treatment be used around the mouth?

It can be used for certain concerns around the mouth, like smokers lines, or sad corners of the mouth.

Can anti-wrinkle treatment treat crow’s feet?

Yes. Crow’s feet are the lines that form at the outer corners of the eyes when you smile or squint.

Can anti-wrinkle treatment be used for excessive sweating?

Yes. Botulinum toxin can also be used to reduce excessive sweating in areas such as the underarms, hands or feet.

Does botox make you look fake or surprised?

Not at all, it relaxes the expression lines and doesn’t make anyone look fake or surprised. Some people prefer more “frozen” look, and others prefer to keep it natural and with some movement.
