EYELASH EXTENSIONS FAQs
On the day of your appointment you should avoid drinking coffee and energy drinks like ”red bull”, they may cause twitching of your upper eyelid and cause your eyes to water during the application. Your lashes shouldn’t be permed shortly before you wish to apply eyelash extensions. In case your lashes are very light, you may want to have them tinted first (you can book it with me but a mandatory patch test is required at least 24 hours before your appointment). You should avoid oil based (instant) make up removers, eyelash curlers and waterproof mascara. If you wear contact lenses, you will need to remove them for the time of the application so please bring your glasses with you.
Please remove eye make-up and wash your lashes before each appointment.
We will ask you to choose the set (we offer 7 different sets, and you can pick one, depending how full you want your lashes to look). Before the application you will be asked to fill in a clients consultation form and we will discuss the final effect you would like to achieve. Then we will choose the right colour and curl, thickness and length of the eyelashes. We even have brown lashes for blonde girls 🙂
During the application I will answer all your questions regarding your new individual eyelash extensions. I will be informing you exactly what I am doing and I will tell you how to take care about your eyelash extensions at home.
After the application is complete you will receive a small eyelash extensions brush and a written after care instruction. If you will have any further questions or problems you can always contact me. We offer our beauty treatments within Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire, London and other locations in the UK.
We use range of all eyelash extensions, including: Synthetic Silk Lashes, Synthetic Mink Lashes and even Real Mink Fur Lashes. All of them enhance the beauty of the natural eye in different ways and cause no side effects. Eyelash extensions can be applied to look as natural or dramatic as you’d d like. The application involves applying one extension to each one of your own individual lashes. The process is pain free and very relaxing. For the initial application, you will be lying down, with your eyes closed during the procedure which may take from 40mins to 2hours and longer for volume sets of eyelash extensions. For your touch-up appointments, please plan on 40min to 1.5 hour ( please check the pricing page).
Every natural eyelash lives from 2 to 3 months. After that time the natural eyelash falls out and a new one grows in the same place. It is not possible to know how old is a lash that we extend. That is why we need to fill in the gaps caused by fallen out lashes as the extension that is attached will also fall out with your own natural lash. It should be done every 2-4 weeks ( depending on how well you look after your extensions and on your eyelash life cycle) so you can have fabulous looking lashes all the time. Lashes should be infilled when you still have between 40-60% of your set attached to class as an infill. Please visit the pricing page to check on cost of in-fills and when you should come back to have your extensions retouched.
They are safe when applied properly by a trained professional, who separates lashes and uses appropriate amount of glue, and correct length and thickness of eyelash extensions (correct for your own natural lashes). Properly applied eyelash extension does not cause damage to your natural lash. The Eyelash Extensions are applied to your natural lash and not the skin, so chances of an allergic reaction are very minimal unless you are allergic to adhesives in which case Eyelash Extensions are not for you (we need to tape down your lower lashes or apply gel pads on your skin under the lashes).
We separate your own lashes perfectly so you will not feel any pulling or discomfort. As long as you are not rubbing your eyes vigorously or pull on the extensions, your natural lashes will not be pulled out, they will fall out naturally with its cycle ( each natural lash lives between 8-12 weeks ).
Yes, we have a variety of eyelash extensions lengths from 7mm to 15mm, thicknesses from 0,05mm, 0,06mm, 0.07mm, 0.1mm, 0.12mm, 0.15mm, 0.2mm, 0.25mm and shapes J, B, C, D, L, L+. We customize a look that works best for you!
After the initial application you will need touch ups ( just as you would get your acrylic nails in-filled ). Depending on each individual you may need a touch up anywhere from 2-4 weeks. It depends on the individual person because some people have more lashes than others, some peoples lashes will grow faster, or some people will not want them to look sparse at all. They will last longer with correct after care, people who wear mascara over extensions, do not remove eye make-up daily or do not wash lashes may need to have them in-filled more often. You will be loosing your extensions with your natural lash shed, so for a typical person it is usually around 3 lashes daily. Larger sets will last longer as there will be more natural lashes covered with extensions.
Yes you can still wear makeup as long as it is appropriate for eyelash extensions ( water based) and you are removing it with glycol free make-up remover ( glycol is an ingredient in some soaps and make-up remover that breaks down the lash glue) you may need to use a cotton bud ( side sweeps) to remove eye liner. We do not advise to wear any type of mascara over your extensions as the removal may be difficult and may definitely shorten the life of your beautiful eyelash extensions.
Within the first 24 hours of the application you may not want to get your eyelashes wet, steamed or spray tanned, but after 24 hours you can get them wet as much as you would like. Swimming and/or sweating is ok after the first 24 hours.
If you think you have sensitive eyes there are two options. We can do a patch test and put about 2 lashes on each eye, if you do not react you are eligible for a full set. There is also a sensitive glue, however, the sensitive glue does not have the same hold as the other so you will need touch ups more frequently.
Of course. Professional semi permanent individual eyelash extensions for men is going to be one of the hottest new trends in the beauty industry. We will choose the right length and thickness of the extensions for you. We can apply super natural set of eyelashes which will enhance the beauty of your eyes and nobody will notice your eyelash extensions but your good looks!
Mink Lashes are the new craze.
If you’re going for that 100% natural look, this is the best you can get. Most people love Mink because they look so natural, almost like a better version of your natural eyelashes.
The real mink lashes are very fine and soft and have a black matt look.
They come in different lengths and curls, but the curl usually relaxes with time.
Because they are hand permed their curl isn’t very uniformed like with the synthetic lashes.
I like to say that they are perfectly imperfect 🙂
They are a perfect choice for those ladies that are after very natural and soft looking lashes, where it will not be very obvious that they had eyelash extensions applied.
It’s simple, your lashes are growing and the extensions that are attached to your natural lashes are growing out.
So even if you still have 50% of your set, the extensions will be hanging at the end of your natural lashes, getting ready to come out due to it’s cycle. That’s how your extensions are attached to your lashes at about 3 weeks from the time when they were applied.
On the picture grown out 4D russian volume extension.
